“My Story Weaves Our Story” is a virtual diversity panel, created to be an ongoing series representing and reflecting the unique experiences, perspectives and viewpoints of the people and the communities we serve. This series will serve as a space for people from the minority groups within our community to make their voices heard and to give others the opportunity to learn from their perspectives. Tune in to hear from five different panelists from five different communities: African American community, Hispanic/Latinx community, LGBTQ+ community, Asian community and the Appalachian community.
In this episode, we sat down with panelists from the Hispanic/Latix community. These panelists provided a look at their backgrounds, shared their thoughts on some of the misinformation out there about their community, and suggested solutions for creating a place where all feel welcomed. The panelists engaged in discussion with each other and helped foster meaningful conversation. As you’ll hear in this episode, a safe place for open, honest conversation is the first step towards weaving our story.
Make sure to stay up to date for future episodes where we delve further into the diversity within each community.
