How long have you been a part of the Warren County community?
I am a second-generation graduate of Warren County High School (President of the Class of 1994) and returned here two years after I finished college in Charleston, SC. I am so thankful that my children could grow up near both sets of their fantastic grandparents and in my hometown.
Three things about you:
I have the best kids I could ever ask for. My son just started college (he will be playing baseball as a pitcher in Harrisonburg at EMU) and my daughter is a senior three sport athlete at WCHS involved in many leadership positions. I can’t believe I’m almost an empty nester—it went by in the blink of an eye!
I also love “my Ugandan family” (especially 10 children ranging in ages from 3 months to 18 years). Thanks to my real estate clients and sales, I have the privilege of funding scholarships for the older 8 to attend an esteemed boarding school in Kampala in hopes to beat the poverty cycle through education and transform mindsets from charity to empowerment. A dream is to one day bring them to visit Warren County (we just got 8 of them passports).
I love to engage in my nonprofit initiatives/passion projects, travel, experience any aspect of self/spiritual development, write, jog, listen to music (and attend concerts of my favorite bands), hang out on my boat and play the electric bass guitar.
One thing you love about Warren County:
I love that everywhere I look I can see a memory from my life, a friendly face and beautiful scenery from the river to the mountains.
